Lionel Messi spends much of his time illuminating the pitch with his football genius and now the Barcelona striker has taken it one step further to mark the launch of a new range of boots.
Messi has been fitted up with an LED light suit to help capture his movements, touch and speed... and looks much like one of the cast of the 1980s cult movie Tron.
The adizero f50 Messi football boots collection features the usual raft of high-tech features: a 3D printed texture on the surface of the boot and an exclusive leather grain optic that allows the boot to be lightweight.
But you'd argue Messi could play in clogs and he'd still sit head and shoulders above the rest, but you can now get your hands on the boots he will be wearing week in, week out for the Catalan giants.
One of the lightest boots on the market with every aspect of the boot design based around making the wearer as fast as possible on the football field.
And you can understand why the Argentina international wants every advantage he can lay his hands on: as next season it looks certain he'll be have Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale to contend with over at rivals Real Madrid.
