iPhones News David Moyes has angrily denied reports of a rift with Wayne Rooney - and once again reiterated his stance that the striker is not for sale.
It is believed relations between Rooney and Manchester United have broken down. Chelsea have already made two unsuccessful bids for him with Jose Mourinho vowing last week to "fight to the last day" to sign him.
Rooney was left out of Moyes' squad for the Community Shield at Wembley, where United won 2-0 thanks to Robin van Persie's double to hand their manager his first piece of silverware with the club.
Moyes had said that Rooney had injured his shoulder in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Real Betis at Carrington on August 3. Rooney trained with the reserves this week, but Moyes said that was the striker's choice.
Roy Hodgson has however called Rooney up for England's friendly against Scotland on Wednesday, even though Rooney hasn't played a minute of first-team football in pre-season.
And, quizzed once again about Rooney, Moyes lost his cool in his post-match press conference at Wembley, blasting the media for writing "untruths" about the player and the club.
"Wayne has trained, and some of you might not like hearing this, but I didn't fall out with Wayne," Moyes said.
"Some of you wrote untruths. Wayne trained with the reserves because it was his asking. He couldn't have (physical) contact, he had a shoulder injury.
"In case you don't know, we used him as a floating player, which means he doesn't play for either team, he plays between either team.
"He played as a floating player so he didn't get injured. So any of you who wrote anything else are misleading your readers.
"I spoke to Roy [Hodgson, England manager] for probably two hours at different times. Roy knows the situation.
"I'm quite enjoying talking about Wayne because I'm hearing so many of you getting it wrong and I know most of you. I think you're a bit cleverer than that but some of you aren't acting that way.
"I want him to join up with England. He trained with us yesterday. He's not ready and you'll probably see that during the game. He'll probably play a chunk of the game but he's had no football apart from 45 minutes against Real Betis in a friendly where he's hurt his shoulder. Apart from that he's got no match action.
"So you wouldn't expect someone in that condition to be playing for a long period. He's coming back, he's breaking himself back into the team and it will be great for Manchester United because hopefully he'll get some game time. He wasn't ready for today. But he's got a chance of being ready for Wednesday."
